SCARWORK in Practice: Complete Technique Training (with Sharon Wheeler & Wojtek Cackowski)
Filmed in Thailand, this 8-credit ScarWork training is a technique-forward deep dive with Sharon Wheeler and Certified ScarWork Instructor Wojtek Cackowski.
You’ll see extensive hands-on demonstrations, real-scar examples, and practical decision-making for choosing and adapting ScarWork methods, because no two scars (or people) are the same.
Format: 5 video chapters (streaming) with demonstrations, clinical stories, and clear technique instruction.
In this training you’ll learn:
- How to assess scar behavior and recognize common patterns of restriction, tethering, sensitivity, and “pull” beyond the scar line
- How ScarWork thinks in layers: skin, superficial fascia, adipose, and deeper relationships, including when to consider bone-level approaches
- Core ScarWork techniques and what each is designed to change, including:
- Feather-light technique (gentle “first pass” and early-stage-friendly approach)
- Eraser technique (addressing roughness, edges, and surface texture)
- Scraping (supporting organization and glide in superficial layers)
- Skidding and big-picture skidding (reducing tethering and restoring layer mobility across a wider field)
- Matching layers (reconnecting and re-integrating tissues with precise shearing in different planes)
- Filling in (supporting continuity where tissue feels “gapped” or hollow)
- Track/drain work (“down the rabbit hole” approach for narrow pathways and deeper lines)
- Progression and dosing: when to stay superficial, when to widen the field, and how to progress depth without overworking
- Comfort and safety principles: keeping the work non-invasive, responsive, and client-centered
- Clinical application: adapting the methods for different scar histories and presentations, with stories and examples from Sharon & Wojtek
Chapters:
- ScarWork Training I: Fundamentals
Orientation to ScarWork principles, scar behavior, fascial layers, and the foundational techniques that guide decision-making. - ScarWork Training II: Sharon’s Demonstrations
Sharon demonstrates key methods on real scars, showing how she observes, chooses techniques, and adjusts moment-to-moment. - ScarWork Training III: Bruce’s Arm
A focused case walkthrough on the arm: assessment, technique selection, sequencing, and layer progression. - ScarWork Training IV: Bruce’s Leg
A focused case walkthrough on the leg: wider-field strategies, depth progression, and adapting ScarWork to different tissues and histories. - ScarWork Training V: Examples, Practice, Discussion
More demonstrations and examples, practice guidance, and discussion to help you integrate the work into your own sessions.
