Saturday May 31, 2pm – 5pm
The psoas—mysterious, powerful, and often misunderstood—is at the heart of so much movement, connection, and inner support. In this one-afternoon workshop, Tanja London (Interdisciplinary Artist / Fascial Pilates / Medical QiGong teacher) and Til Luchau (Educator / Writer / Bodyworker) team up to explore the psoas from their unique perspectives as a movement artist, and as a manual therapist.
Through gentle hands-on exploration, movement play, and lively conversation, we’ll dive into how this deep core structure shows up in everyday embodied movement, contact improv, bodywork, and more. We’ll look at the psoas’ role in evolutionary anatomy and human function, but also listen inside to our felt sense of the psoas in action—its role in grounding, suspending, responsiveness, connection, and expanding into space.
Open to all: curious movers, touch practitioners, and anyone who wants to explore this fascinating structure more deeply.
